Why Cape Finisterre matters
Finisterre means land's end, and the Romans believed it was just that. Many pilgrims continue here from Santiago to watch the sun set into the Atlantic. At the lighthouse the cliffs fall to the sea, and some pilgrims leave their boots behind. It is windy and wild, and fantastic at sunset.
