How we make our guides
What is written by AI, what is checked, what is not, and how to tell us when we are wrong.
You should know how the guides on this site are made, so you can judge how far to trust them.
AI-assisted writing
The text about countries, cities and places is written with the help of an AI model. It is written in our own words, not copied from other websites, and it avoids details that go stale, such as ticket prices and opening hours.
What we check
- Place coordinates are compared with public sources (Wikipedia and Wikidata) where a match exists, and obvious errors are corrected.
- Place names, categories and locations are validated automatically for consistency.
- Suggestions from visitors are reviewed by a person before they are published.
What we have not checked
Not every fact and every pin has been confirmed by a person on the ground. Where a place has no public source to compare with, its location is as reliable as the AI draft. Pages say when their content is AI-assisted and not yet checked by a person.
Always check before you travel
Opening times, tickets, closures, entry rules and safety advice change. Confirm them with the place, the operator or the official government source. See the travel disclaimer.
Photos and maps
Photos come from sources that allow reuse, with the author and licence listed on the photo credits page. Map outlines come from Natural Earth, which is in the public domain.
Tell us when we are wrong
Use the contact page or suggest a place. Corrections are reviewed and fixed, and we would rather hear about a mistake than leave it up.
