Why Hostal dos Reis Catolicos matters

The Hostal was founded by the Catholic Monarchs to care for pilgrims arriving on the Camino. Today it's a grand hotel with four courtyards, but visitors can see parts of it. Its ornate Plateresque doorway is one of the finest in Spain. Historically, it welcomed sick pilgrims for free.
