Why Jajce Waterfall matters

Few towns have a waterfall in their centre. The Pliva river pours into the Vrbas in a drop of around twenty metres, with the old town above and a stone gateway beside it. A short path leads to the base for a close-up view. After rain the roar is impressive.

Talking points

  • The falls are in the middle of the town.
  • A path leads down to the base of the falls.
  • The old town gate sits right nearby.
