A coastal national park east of Tallinn with forests, bogs, boulders and old manor houses.
For storytellers
Why Lahemaa National Park matters
Lahemaa is the closest national park to Tallinn and the most varied in Estonia. It combines a rocky coastline with pine forests, boardwalks over bogs, fishing villages and grand manor houses. You can walk a bog trail in the morning, look at giant boulders left behind by the glaciers, and visit a manor in the afternoon. It is an easy day trip or a quiet weekend base.
Talking points
- Boardwalks lead over peat bogs and through pine forest.
- Several historic manor houses are open to visitors.
