Why Lake Ohrid matters

The water is remarkably clear, and the lake is thought to be millions of years old, which allowed many unique species to evolve. Swim from a pebble beach or wooden jetty, take a boat trip, or cycle along the shore. The lake is shared with Albania, and the scenery is lovely at every end.
