Nordkapp
A high cliff on the island of Magerøya, often called the northern tip of Europe, with a visitor centre and globe monument.
For storytellers
Why Nordkapp matters
Nordkapp is a 300-metre-tall cliff plunging into the Arctic Ocean. Visitors come to stand at what is often called the northernmost point of Europe that you can reach by road, and a globe monument marks the spot. In summer the midnight sun lights the sky, and in winter the cape can be wild with storms. It's a long journey north, but it's an unforgettable end-of-the-road feeling.
Talking points
- A globe monument marks the point.
- Midnight sun shines in summer.
- The cliff is reached by a road across the island of Magerøya.
