Why Palanga Pier matters
The pier is the centre of Palanga's social life. Locals and holiday-makers walk its length at sunset, and the view back at the beach, with the dunes behind, is a nice one. It leads out from the main pedestrian street that runs down from the town centre, and the sea air on a windy day is bracing.
