Why Voronet Monastery matters
Voronet is the star of the painted monasteries of Bucovina. The entire exterior is covered in frescoes, and the famous Last Judgment scene is painted in a distinctive blue that has survived centuries. It's often called the Sistine Chapel of the East. The countryside around is beautiful.
