Why Arctic Cathedral matters

The Arctic Cathedral is shaped like a series of tilted triangles, bright white against the dark mountains. It stands on the mainland side of the bridge, with a huge glass window on one end that glows at night. Inside, simple lines and light create a calm space. Concerts, including midnight sun and northern lights events, are held here regularly.

Talking points

  • It was built in the 1960s.
  • The large glass window floods the church with light.
  • Concerts are held in summer and winter.
