Fira, Greece
A Bronze Age town buried by a volcanic eruption, preserved under ash.
Scenic route · Greece · South Aegean
A clifftop walk from Fira to Imerovigli with sweeping views of the volcanic caldera.
For storytellers
The path along the caldera edge links Fira to Firostefani and Imerovigli. You walk past white churches, blue domes and balconies, with the volcanic cliffs dropping into the sea. It is one of the best easy walks in the Cyclades, especially early morning or late afternoon.
