Ronda
A dramatic white town perched on both sides of a deep gorge in the mountains of Andalusia.
For storytellers
Why Ronda matters
Ronda is built along the edge of a sheer limestone gorge, and a stone bridge links the old Moorish quarter with the newer town. The views from the bridge and the viewpoints along the cliff are spectacular. Ronda is also associated with the history of bullfighting, with one of Spain's oldest bullrings. Walk the cliff paths early or at sunset when the day-trippers have left.
Talking points
- A famous bridge crosses a gorge more than a hundred metres deep.
