Why Aksla Viewpoint matters

From the Fjellstua viewpoint on Aksla hill, Ålesund spreads out below you like a model: roofs, canals, islands and the open sea. Visitors climb a long stair from the town park or drive up. Sunset is a favourite time to go, with the mountains of the Sunnmøre Alps on the horizon. A cafe at the top offers refreshments.
