Why Lindos Acropolis matters

Lindos has everything: a white village of tiny lanes, a bay with turquoise water, and above it a hilltop acropolis. Climb up (or take a donkey) to see a temple, columns and medieval walls, plus a view of the bay. It is a very popular day trip from Rhodes Town.

Talking points

  • The view of the bay from the acropolis is superb.
  • The village has a classic white-and-blue look.
  • It gets very hot and busy in summer.
