Why Lviv Opera House matters
The opera house is one of the loveliest buildings in Lviv, a lavish structure with statues and sculpted decoration, built in the late 19th century during the Austrian era. Svobody Avenue, the tree-lined boulevard stretching in front of it, is a favourite for evening strolls. Inside, the auditorium is decorated in gold and red.
