Why Rugova Canyon matters
Just beyond Peja, towering cliffs close in around the road. In summer the canyon is a playground for hiking, climbing and a zip line, and a via ferrata route runs along the cliff face. Beyond, the road continues into the high mountains. It is the best taste of nature in Kosovo.
