Why Church of St Euphemia matters

Climb the cobbled Grisia street to the very top of the old town and you reach this large baroque church. Its bell tower is a replica of the one in Venice and is visible from all around. Inside is the sarcophagus of the saint who gave the church its name. From the terrace outside, you look over the sea and the old rooftops.

Talking points

  • Its bell tower echoes the Venetian style.
  • The terrace gives a view over the sea and rooftops.
  • The climb up is lined with art studios.
