Why Mestrovic Gallery matters

Ivan Mestrovic designed this villa as his home and workshop, and it is now a gallery of his monumental sculptures. White stone halls, terraces and a garden above the sea make it peaceful and photogenic. It is a quieter alternative to the palace crowds and gives you a look at modern Croatian art.

Talking points

  • The sculptor designed the building as his home.
  • Many of his large sculptures are displayed here.
