Why Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque matters

This is the most important mosque in Sarajevo and a masterpiece of classical Ottoman architecture. Its courtyard, domed prayer hall and slender minaret create a calm refuge from the bazaar crowds. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times, but cover up and remove your shoes. It is a good way to feel the city's Ottoman roots.
