Why Vijecnica (City Hall) matters

With its striped facade and arched windows, this looks like a palace from another world. Built in the Austro-Hungarian period in a pseudo-Moorish style, it served as the city's library until it was badly damaged in 1992. After years of restoration it reopened as a civic and cultural building. Step into the central hall to see the stained-glass ceiling.
