Why Yellow Bastion matters

Walk uphill from the old town and you reach this stone bastion, where locals gather at sunset. The view takes in the red roofs, minarets and the hills closing in around the valley. During Ramadan, a cannon is traditionally fired from this area at sunset. Bring a snack, sit on the wall and watch the evening light.

Talking points

  • It gives a rooftop view across the old town.
