Why Oodi Central Library matters

Oodi means ode, and this library is Finland's tribute to reading and public life. Its wooden-clad curved facade and open staircases make it a landmark, and inside you find not just books but a cinema, music studios, 3D printers, a café and a rooftop terrace. It opened at the end of 2018 and has become one of Helsinki's most loved public spaces. Anyone can come in and spend an hour.
