Why Palau de la Musica Catalana matters

From the outside, this concert hall is a red-brick fantasy with mosaics. Inside, the auditorium has a stained-glass ceiling like an inverted dome that floods the room with golden light, surrounded by sculpted figures and tiled flowers. It was designed by Lluis Domenech i Montaner and is among the most dazzling interiors in Spain.
